Special Needs Education
This is a form of learning provided for learners with learning disabilities or mental challenges. In special needs education, the teachers will have an Individualized Educational Program designed to meet the child’s specific needs. Teachers go through academic content at a slower pace and using various teaching methods to accommodate the pace of the learner.
Occupational therapy is the use of a wide range of activities and games as an aid to recuperation from physical and mental challenges. Occupational therapy helps our learners with their concentration, their fine motor skills e.g. pen gripping, reasoning and thinking skills (problem solving) and daily living skills.
Our older special needs learners are exposed to vocational training as we prepare them for independence after school. Here they are exposed to different skills including, sewing, mat making, cooking, gardening and maintenance work.
